Who Is Killing The Great Chefs Of Europe (1978)
Posted in 1978

Two things make this better than the average whodunit: you will actually remember, some time after watching it, who was killing the great chefs of Europe, and why; and if I were to tell you who it was it wouldn’t ruin your enjoyment of the movie. It’s more comedy than detective story – amusing and classy, rather than wildly funny. Robert Morley plays exactly the kind of role you’d expect him to play. Henry Mancini writes one of his most cheerful scores. If you’re one of those people who had a thing for Jacqueline Bisset in the 1970s and you want to see more of her, then I must warn you, you’ll be disappointed. The scene where she and George Segal get turned on by fine food is if anything a turn-OFF for us. But there IS a wonderful feast for the eyes – so to speak. It’s probably a good idea not to watch this movie unless you have plenty of food, of high quality, nearby.
